“The Day I Met Suzie” Tour

“The Day I Met Suzie” Tour

Spent last week on a whistle-stop tour around the country talking about “The Day I Met Suzie”. Hectic, crazy, exciting, exhausting, FUN!

Monday, 18th March, I was in Scotland visiting Bo’ness Academy, St Mungo’s High School and Grangemouth High. Tuesday, I was in Edinburgh at Holy Rood RC and The Royal High School. What a lovely warm Scottish welcome from everyone at these five schools. (Scottish students, you’re so grown up and your manners are impeccable!)

Then a fast train to Lancaster and Weds went to Kirbie Kendal School and Ripley St Thomas. (Loved your enthusiasm, you guys! Wish I could bottle it and bring it out for the days when writing is just a sheer hard slog.)

On to Manchester then and on Thursday I visited Manchester High School for Girls (What a great question and answer session girls!) and then Urmston High School for an informal chat with fans followed by a really interesting afternoon with Year 10s.

Friday, back in the South-West to Bristol schools, Henbury and Blackwell. Lovely way to end a really fab tour.

Thanks to everyone who made me so welcome, all you lovely librarians and brilliant bookshop people, especially Elaine and Suzie(not the one the book’s about!) from SilverDell Books and Peter and Frances at Urmston Bookshop.

And extra special thanks to the wonderful Victoria who organized it all. Can’t wait for the next one… Now what did we decide? New York…Sydney…Vancouver???

I’ll be posting photographs asap so keep an eye on this page …
